CSARN / Safer Business Engagement - (Class maximum of 15.)

Police teams, local authority planners, Fire & Rescue services are increasingly looking to partner business to widen capacity, knowledge-share and develop shared responses to major incidents. CSARN's Safer Business Engagement Masterclass gives public sector security practitioners the inside track on how business and other major employers carry out: corporate security and manguarding; business continuity; IT security and resilience; Human Resource management; trauma management; and risk management. The course develops ideas around building stronger public-private partnerships around preventing, managing and recovering from multi-hazards. The course ends with a field-trip to learn how business integrates these many oscillating human and information components together - and how cross-sector functionality can be strengthened. Modules will include:

  • Company structures and how a modern business works
  • Impact of a contracting economy upon emergency planning; How to get the Board on board
  • Multi Hazards approach to risk management and business continuity
  • Terrorism and business communities
  • Cyber and information security
  • Protocols; engaging business and optimising public / private partnerships
  • Field study visit – tour of security systems in a commercial zone
