 This webinar will explore how the UK Government and various companies responded and developed strategy to confront the Covid-19 Pandemic. Drawing on first-hand experience of dealing with 10 Downing Street, other senior government ministries, as well as private sector organisational decision-makers, each speaker will address various aspects of leadership lessons from a crisis communications standpoint. We will cover:

  • Government communications lessons and strategy for future pandemic management and leadership
  • Lessons learned by some corporations with references to case studies
  • Strategic planning in the future
  • A winning formula for designing media and communications strategy and intersecting this with business continuity and emergency planning

 David Maddox: Political Editor for the Sunday Express

 Anna Averkiou: An international consultant, trainer and journalist who draws on more than 25 years' experience covering some of the world's biggest stories for global news organisations such as the BBC, CNN, ABC (US) and TV news agencies to help organisations and individuals engage more effectively with the media. She has a particular interest in Crisis Communications and reputation management. Anna was Media Advisor to the Panel of the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry into historic child abuse, served on the London Executive Board of The Emergency Planning Society and is now a trustee/advisor to several charities and Board Advisor on Media Engagement for The Security Institute.
