  • Professional Practice: Research and report writing at a professional level. Protect UK and corporate protection. Why we need ‘Professional Security’?
  • Counter Terrorism and Risk Management: ‘Target hardening’ entities against attack, Professional security risk management and essentials in risk reduction. Researching threats with OSINT
  • Security Systems and Laws: including CCTV system structures. Other protective security measures. Legislation, oversight and governance
  • Security Management: Project management principles, audits and reviews
  • Cyber Security Management and Operations: Converged security. How do People and Facilities meet with ICT? Networks, Mobiles, IoT and AI
  • Incident Response and Reporting: Communications with internal and external stakeholders. Where next? Further continued professional development and lifelong learning.

Course director: Richard Bingley. Former Close Protection Operative, government communications manager and UK Army. Author of several security books including Cyber Terrorism, Terrorism: Just the Facts and The Security Consultant's Handbook. Experienced university lecturer and tutor to agencies, law-enforcement and international business organisations. Richard is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Post-Graduate Certified teacher (PGCLTHE). 

Delivery: Live Online Mondays to Fridays, 16.30 to 18.00 hours. UK Time. 3 weeks of 7.5 hours. Dedicated academic support sessions also provided online and (if preferred) in the City of London CSARN Academy classrooms.  

Course duration: Self-paced. We estimate 3-6 months. 

Start dates: October 2nd-6th, 2023. January 8th to 12th, 2024. 

Assessments: Informal, interactive, exciting exercises throughout. One formal assessment equivalent to 1,500 work-based report for each of the six modules. Together, these will form your assessed 'security manager' portfolio.
