NIST Cyber Security Framework Essentials

CSARN Global Cyber Academy

Our online training course provides the essential basics for those involved in planning, implementing, and/or strategically overseeing the roll-out of NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF) compliance.

The United States’ National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) developed a cybersecurity framework (CSF) to enhance the cybersecurity posture and resilience of public and business organizations operating in the US. Recent measures by the US government ensure that the CSF will be expected to be adhered to by most US business enterprises. This course provides an overview and detailed recommendations to perform proficiently across each of the core NIST CSF cyber security functions outlined in NIST 800-53:

  1. Identify
  2. Protect
  3. Detect
  4. Respond
  5. Recover.

The course is suited for security managers, Information Systems managers’ and operators. as well as non-technical business leaders and managers keen to prevent and ‘design-out’ security breaches. During the course the instructor will address initiatives and opportunities for employees to:

 (1) reduce the likelihood of a damaging cyber intrusion, (2) take steps to quickly detect a potential intrusion, (3) ensure that the organization is prepared to respond if an intrusion occurs, and (4) maximize the organization's resilience to a destructive cyber incident.

Duration: 6-8 hours

Format: Online, self-paced. Access to course video presentations, written content and supporting materials for up to one year.

Award: CSARN Global Cyber Academy ISO27001 Essentials Certificate of Completion (upon passing the end of course quiz).
